I wrote this review of Chin Jou’s Supersizing Urban America: How Inner Cities Got Fast Food with Government Help for the Journal of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Community Development (Vol. 7, No. 4). I really enjoyed the historical part, which fortunately is the bulk of the book. With hindsight, I might have been a little unfair in criticizing her murkiness on the relationship between problems in the food system and economic inequality in that lots of other food advocates have the same issue.
