When my son was younger, I didn’t have the time to write much at all, and writing reviews on Amazon of what I was reading was a quick, easy outlet for the writing itch for a few years. (Unfortunately, they were often written in the middle of the night and thus contain lots of typos.) Recently, as my son has gotten a little older, I’ve gotten more systematic about reading down the backlog of books that I own and have found Goodreads a useful tool for organizing that.
